That is just beautiful and I have wanted to try a Log Cabin but really didn't want to use 1 1/2 inch wide strips - are those 2 1/2" strips??? You could put a border on the top and the bottom but it really is just perfect the way that it is...you have done a wonderful job on it!!!

I think a nice border all around will do the trick nicely. It is lovely

It's stunning. I don't have any advice for you, but I know you will get good info from the board.

My strips are 2" wide. Made it easy for cutting, and any strip-cut materials would work that way.

How about adding a border at only the top? Maybe appliqué something using the greens and reds on the cream background.

I do not place the quilt over the pillows and pull it down until it covers the bottom of my king size bed. I then place the pillows and pillow shams with the same quilt pattern on the top. Looks great and I don't have to add on. It covers where the top ends. Try it. You might like it,

Lovely quilt. I think you can add just borders to the top and bottom and it will look great.

I think the suggestion of making matching pillow covers would be what I would do. It is absolutely a beautiful log cabin quilt as is and I think the borders would 'draw the eye' and affect the symmetry.

Julie, the quilt is just beautiful! I can see how you would like to maintain the symmetry on top of the bed. Adding a border on the bottom only should be enough. Perhaps making pillow shams will add a nice touch. Or you can leave as is if the recipient already has a lovely bed skirt to go with it.
