I have used Schmetz since I bought my first fancy machine (Viking D1) about 10 years ago, but have always wondered about Organs.

I used Groz-Beckerts for my LA and have a pack of older Singer needles that I use in my FW. I will have to try some Organs or Superiors version of Organs. Thanks for the info.

How did you know your Brother didn't like them? I'm curious what "symptoms" you experienced.

I've been using Organ needles for over 30 years on my White serger, Berninas, and more recently on my Juki LA. It is a Japanese company and ORGAN needles are supplied with every new machine from: BROTHER, JUKI, MITSUBISHI, YAMATO, KANSAI, PEGASUS, CONSEW, TAJIMA, BARUDAN, NAKAJIMA, KINGLINE, EWLONG, TOYOTA, RENOWN, and many more..
My sewing guru from Banash's in Ohio said there is very little difference other than price in the Schmetz vs. Organ. Check out Banach's Fabric online catalog for great prices on both if you buy in quanity.

I was sold Organ needles for my Baby Lock overlocker and it wouldn't pick up the thread properly. When I asked a different Baby Lock dealer about it she said organ are a different size so when I checked sure enough they were about 1mm shorter than the brand I should have been using.

I bought 2 boxes of 100 Organ brand needles in sizes 80/12 and 90/14. I haven't had any problems with them at all.

Organ are a big seller here. In fact, they're also sold under the Janome brand seen here. Watch you don't faint when you see the price - about $7.50 for a pack of 5

Thanks for the information, but that site sure is confusing. I couldn't get to see the titanium coated needles until I actually typed in "titanium". Now I'm not sure which one to buy. I wonder where Jan gets hers and how much they are. I just bought a supply of Schmetz needles, and I use them forever (shame on me), but I want to buy some of these Organ needles. I will keep this site in mind.

I use Organ needles for my Janome 8900 and my featherweight. They are great. My FIL was a sewing machine repairman for 40 years. My FIL always recommended organ needles and sold only Organ needles.

I have used Organ Needles for 5 or 6 years now and don't see any difference in the quality or workmanship in my quilting projects. I highly recommend them.
