    Default ott lamp

Hello everyone. I picked up an Ott table lamp at an auction a couple weeks ago. The problem I have is that it has a bump out with two small prongs at the end of the cord. Clearly it's missing the rest of the cord. I'm guessing this lamp has something extra on the cord for the power it pulls. Dont know. It's a fairly big lamp, similar to the 18w that I saw online. Does anyone know what this thing is? We are calling Ott to see if we can get the rest of the cord. I'm just curious as to what it is. Thanks all. Gina

They have a lot of those at Joann Fabrics. They even had a few parts. You may want to look there.

We called ott and found out it a transformer of sorts. On the way, yah. I can finally use my light. Do all of them have this on the cord? I have never really looked at them, but have wanted one. When I had a chance to buy it, I didn't look too close and when we got home, found out I had a problem.

I know my floor and clamp on table 18w both have them but when I check my old flip 13w that was the first model they made, that does not.

I have this one and it does not have the transformer. Yes, it is a "real" Ott.

To go along with the Ott light (table model) that I just purchased, I also bought another light for reading in bed so as not to bother husband.

Go to Gold Violin.Blair.com under lighting - I chose the Hug Light (around the neck for $15.00. Done a lot of research on this. Both are waiting at the post office for me right now, but will have to wait until Tuesday to pick them up. Will post later after I've tried them.

I bought an Ott light recently and the bolt did not fit. Called Ott. Excellent customer service. They mailed me a new bolt kit immediately.
