For Christmas of 2009, my son went to Mali, Africa, to help a tiny village build a lasting bridge. This bridge would wash out during the rainy season, cutting the villagers off from their schools, market, and healthcare. While there, he had a chance to go to a flea market and brought me back these beautiful fabrics to make him a quilt. It has taken me awhile to decide on the pattern and then the quilting, but it is now done and he is ecstatic with the results, and altho' not perfect, his reaction is my joy. This is my first posting on the board, but I have been enjoying the pics and tips all you wonderful ladies and gentlemen have been posting.
