    Default Paducah Kentucky quilt shops

    Hi,
I did look through some of the threads on here but most seem tied to visiting during the big show. We will be there in about a week so I'm just looking for tips about shopping at Hancock's. Any advice? Other shops that are a must? We'll have our car so nearby stops are possible. Thanks so much!

I have bought online from Hancock's of Paduach. It is a family business with the father and his two sons running the fabric store. Doesn't EB have a store also in Paduach?? Might look online for a telephone directory or search if there is any info on the city's website. Good Luck and Have Fun !!

Have some idea what you will want to look for. The store has everything. It can be overwhelming. When you enter the store, go to the right to a back room. They have flat folds that are at a discounted price. A must find is Eleanor Burns shop. She has great prices on everything.

    Enjoy the trip.

I haven't been there yet but have a wonderful time! I have often thought that I would want to visit in an off time also. I'm not a big fan of crowds.

When you enter Hancocks of Paducah there is a back room on your right that has lots of sale items. Enjoy your trip, I go every other year and this is the year.

Yes, be sure to find the "back room" at Hancock's of Paducah - if you cannot find it - then just ask somebody. They also have a batik remnant table - at discounted prices - it is at the back - but has moved a few times - so ask if you want to find it. Sometimes they have a red sticker on the cardboard bolt holder thingeys that denotes sales on the fabric. Eleanor Burns has a store downtown - it has much cheaper fabric than Hancocks of Paducah - but not nearly the selection, etc. HTH

My favorite is Quilter's Alley. The owner is very nice and helpful. Hancock's was overwhelming. Have fun wherever you go.

What a timely post! I was just browsing the Paducah visitors center website - we are also planning a non-quilt-week visit in a few weeks.
