On the subject of painters tape and frog tape, I have read somewhere that they are now making one or the other with scalloped edges and one with the chevron edge for decorative painting. I have not found a source for this. Can anyone give additional information about this?

The green frog tape is more money, but works great. It takes a long time for me to use up a roll. For me if I find something when quilting and it works I stick with it.

does anyone have an answer to this?

I do PPing and when the tissue rips, I have used tape to mend it….but when pressing, it shrivels.

I had a pattern (can't retrieve it now that I need it !!!!) and it mentions a certain Scotch tape that is not affected by the iron to use for the mending.

Of course, I didn't write it down and can't remember which pattern I was reading!

    Help would so greatly appreciated…..thanks!!!!

There are different brands of the blue colored tape. Scotch and 3M are the best. The store brands will not be stick the same.

Magic sizing or other brands of "sizing" are made of a plastic material. "Starch" is made from corn. I know it is a common practice to simply say "starching it" when you are using a plastic-based sizing. It is good to know precisely what product you are using, before assuming any answer is correct.

I always used Magic Sizing.. it wasn't until recently that I actually bought starch because here on the QB people talk about using starch (they never mention Magic Sizing). So maybe Magic Sizing will work with the blue tape????

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S IT. NOW THAT I SEE IT IN PRINT, I DO REMEMBER THAT IS WHAT THE PATTERN CALLED FOR. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU…………

    I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL…
you should see the piece I worked on yesterday…this pattern was too large to transfer to other paper (first large PPed pattern I have ever worked on) so I am working with the tissue and one piece just kept splitting apart..

to the store today for the removable tape. Did I say Thank YOU!
