Painting Quilts and Dolls
Hi,
I’m relatively new to quilting and sewing. I want to paint some doll faces, though, and also would like to do some painting on future quilts. Can anyone recommend fabric paints that won’t bleed?
Thank you :-)

Inktense (spelling?) You mix it w/ Aloe Vera & then paint on the fabric.
I saw this yesterday & the OP used Inktense.

I use Aunt Martha's Ballpoint paint tubes. https://www.google.com/search?q=aunt...=silk&ie=UTF-8 . You can get them from Joanns, Hobby Lobby, Amazon, ect. I really like them for quick features on dolls, quilts, and quilt labels. So far I have never heard of anyone else using them on quilts, but I've had very good luck with them. This baby quilt was made using them and it has been washed countless times now and still looking great! https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...36-577690.html

Derwent Intense pencils are incredibly versatile. Made with a wax that dissolves in water allowing the pigment to flood the area, they combine the two disciplines of drawing and painting beautifully. Derwent offers a wide selection of water-soluble pencils ranging from classic watercolour to intense ink like pencils, pure graphite to graphite with a hint of colour.. I ordered mine from the following: www.pencils.co.uk
You will also find a hints and tips sheet showing you how to use the accessories to best creative effect.
I also use "Martha Stewart" tintable fabric medium from WalMart and I think you can also get it from Michaels, it dries clear, and almost looks like a fine plastic film over your painted work but is not shiny, you need to heat set your painting after using this medium to preserve your drawing or painting.

Thanks so much for the recommendations :-)
I think I’ll go with acrylic + medium for now, since it would be hard to iron a doll face unless I wanted to paint it before I stuffed it, but I’d like to look into the other paints for quilting in the future.
