Can I use acrylic paints without the "fabric" additive?

It may make the fabric more stiff, than if you dilute it with the fabric medium.

Without the medium the color may not hold true. The fabric medium holds the paint color. Acrylic paints need to be heat set using a iron. Hope this info helps.

Thanks for your answer about thread painting with acrylics...as evident, I know nothing about this, so...what is fabric additive?

I believe the medium has something to do with the washability of the fabric. I could be wrong though.

Fabric Medium is necessary for the paints to pentrate the fabirc and stay true to color.
Meduim helps keep the painted painted ares soft. Will be a little thicker feeling than the unpainted fabric.
