Dunster - I've seen that fabric online SOMEWHERE! Now to find it again!

Rhonda - wow, great fabrics! I like K4 but Hans thinks K1. I love the chickens as well but am concerned that the plain background would give the same subtle result as the pansies did. Now if there was a chicken one with grass or straw in the background... thanks so much for taking the time, glad I've led you into temptation AGAIN!

It is listed under Stack and Whack and she states her policy on the page. Now sure about getting the link to work.
Great that she gives the info for stack n whack but if I'm reading it right, those prices are for half yards? Therefore around 12 dollars per yard? I suppose she has to cover her time and trouble. I like the foxes and bluebirds - I'll find out how much she'll charge to ship to France. Thanks for the link!

I've just ordered some of this http://www.jandofabrics.com/proddeta...?prod=dog30129

The repeat is the same as yours, dunster, just different doggies! I'm going to make a quilt for a good friend in England. Thank you all for your help, I'm so pleased to have finally found some doggie fabric! Not lurchers but hey, who cares?! :D

PS Rhonda - I'm still interested in more - K quilts could be my new obsession! :D

I just found this free video for the hollow blocks - is it the right kind? http://www.5min.com/Video/Hollow-Cub...Block-91186943

Her rotary cutting technique made me cringe though!

K x---Yes, you are reading it right. It is a Canadian shop. For whatever reason, Canadian prices are considerably more than USA prices. Quilt shop fabric at $12 a yard is cheap for us. We expect to pay $15 and upwards so if it is too rich for our blood we avoid the quilt shops.

The shop owners, a husband and wife team, are very accomodating. They started as an internet shop from their home and it took over their living quarters. They now have a brick and mortar store as well.

I buy my fabric online and most sites don't tell you size of print and length of pattern repeat - when you have to order 4 or 5 yards, you don't want to make a mistake!

Anyway, maybe it will look better with a border, but what kind? Opinions please! Plus, I've no idea how to quilt it!

I think it's a quilt that is more interesting the longer that one looks at it.

It is hard to know - exactly - what kind of fabric one is getting just from a picture

    Was it hard to do?

Thanks! No, it wasn't hard to do - once the pattern repeats were lined up, as explained in the book. The hardest thing for me was cutting the strips WOF because I've only got a 24" cutting mat! As she explains in the book, it's so 'busy' that seam matching is not critical. And you have abit of bias stretch to help you line up the points. I'm not THAT experienced at machine piecing but I found it straightforward. I really enjoyed the process and can't wait for my doggy fabric to do another one.

I'll see how my doggy fabric turns out and if Rhonda finds me something - BUT I'm really tempted by the foxes and bluebirds!
