DeeBooper I love your quilt, it is beautiful. I just finished my first paper piecing project. I LOVED it. It is a little time consuming but the results are beautiful with paper piecing. I made a Welcome banner that has a different block to change out each month. I just finished December's block so I could hang it up now.

I have the Carol Doak DVD. I have to to see something done I can't do much with books. After watching it I was ready to go and did a great job I think. The DVD was so well explained and I could stop it and rewind if I needed more help.

Now I am confident that I could do it on my own no problem, it's that easy to learn. You won't regret learning this technique the results are amazing. Good luck!

    Definitely Carol Doak books!

And I agree, that you will either love or hate paper piecing. It is very precise though especially for difficult pointy patterns....and sometimes the only way you could make a pattern come out.

I just love Carol Doak, I saw here last year and she is such a sweet and funny lady. She is the Queen of paper-piecing, I have her books and I refer to them everytime I do a paper pieced project, you can't go wrong with her books!

Hi Rhoda, I am new at this message board and you are the first message I have responded to. I teach foundation paper piecing. I have about 6 books and they are all good. The 2 biggest ones I have are:
"300 Paper Piecing Quilt Blocks" by Carol Doak. It comes with a CD of all designs you can keep on your computer and then just print anyone of them when you want to use the design. it is by "That Patchwork Place" publisher.$29.95 .
101 Log Cabin Blocks by Linda Causee. ASN Publishing.Book #4181
$18.95 :-) I will give you the names of the other books I have when I can dig them out of the pile. Marty Byrnes Mesa, AZ
