Does anyone know where I can get a paper pieced kodiak bear? I would love to make a table runner with placemats and coaster for my in-laws. ( My vision for the the placemats is a bear on the river with salmon and the forest in the background. On the table runner maybe bears on the end and trees in the center. (They are very special people and have helped us out many times. I would love to put something on there table so I know they know how much we apprecitate them.)
    Thanks!!!!
    Kathleen

Pam Bono has a great quilt block that looks like a kodiak bear. It isn't paper pieced but it went together fairly easily. Here is a link to a post I had with a close up picture of the block.

I admit to pretty much not knowing one bear from the other, but this post shows a big ol' bear on the center panel. If you can't find a pieced bear you like, maybe you could do something with a panel like this. That is if you can find out what it is.
