    I found an Amish block that had 3 pieces to each section. I was wondering about just cutting each section and adding 1/4" seam allowance to make a template. Then cut and sew together. Seems easier in the long run. What are your thoughts.

    Go for it!! Make a test block with some scraps and see if it works for you :D:D:D

    Try it both ways. I'm currently working on a quilt that has a lot of triangles and I didn't like the way the pieces were fitting together in the instructions. I decided to make a paper piecing pattern, scan the drawing, and make lots of copies on typing paper to use. It's working out great..... points are right where I want them. Good luck

    yep, i've done that. years ago i had to make very small PP sun bonnet sues and i was a novice at that, so i made myself regular template pieces. some were tiny but it worked.
