    Hi,
I'm Linda from SC and am new to quilting but started out paper piecing because I remember my Mom quilting this way when I was a little girl. I am using a 10" block The Old Red School on quilterscache.com and the pieces that I just can't get right are on the B template #1 barn/#2sky/#3 barn roof. The angles of these pieces are just frustrating to no end. any suggestions would be appreciated for this newbie!

Welcome to the board :) I live in Anderson, SC - My Mother loved paper piecing also - but I haven't tried it yet.

The others on this board are so helpful :D

I use a glue stick to attach fabric 1 to the paper. When placing your second fabric, have you trimmed the seam allowance on first fabric to 1/4"? Place second fabric face up on table. Fold paper along the seam line, back on itself. As you place this on top of fabric 2, you can see if it will cover the space required. If not, use pins through the corners to check. Repeat for fabric 3. Hope this helps.

I haven't tried it yet, either, but I have a feeling that once I do, I'll be hooked! The patterns are so exact!
