I recently took my first stab at pp. I have wanted to take a class forever. Finally got my class project done. It was a 4 block wall hangings so it was easy to quilt and finish. Smart teacher to make our first attempt easy enough so we could finish it quickly and feel that we had made a great accomplishment instead of stacking it with other UFO's. When I learn how to put pictures here I will post it.

I haven't done as much PP as regular piecing, but did make a mistake of making a queen size, first time PP quilt. THAT was a lot of paper tearing (before ever hearing about other alternatives). Have done smaller projects since! I, too, love the sharp points.

Hi Stacey: I do lots of quilts with paper piecing and love it. I found Carol doak has a lot of nice things that you can use. Just look up her name and you will find her site. Or go to search and put in paper piecing free patterns and you will find all kinds. Hope this helps.

I too have recently become a fan of PP. I do a monthly class from a Judy Niemeyer instructor. The group is making her Glacier Star quilt and each month we do a new technique. Her instructions are methodical, precise, and if you follow the steps-not difficult. I had only paper pieced one quilt B4 taking this on. Totally thrilled with it. If I can do this, anyone can. Love what one can create with PP. A whole new world of possibilities has opened up for me.

I started PP in Jan of this year. I joined two BOM's here. One for houses and one for stars. Quite a few of these blocks are pp'd. I taught myself in Jan. during the worst winter we have ever had. I loved it and Jan. flew by for me. I guess I'm a slow learner and had to do some blocks over but I finally got the hang of it. Check for the pics we posted each month as we went along. The Quilters Cache site has some good free pp'd blocks. Have fun!

Addicted to Paper Piecing also
I have now found another new addiction. Paper Piecing!!! Wow, I didn't realize how much fun it is and so easy. I took my very first class in it last week and really enjoyed it.
Does anyone else out there really enjoy paper piecing? If so do you know of any great sites to go to for easy patterns for paper piecing??
I cant wait to finish my first project and will post a pic later when completed.

finished a quilt for my son and his wife that was a combination of applique and paper pieced blocks. They were thrilled with it. Also I"ve
found out that some of the traditional blocks can be made into a paper pieced pattern. I had a lot of fun making up some patterns for that quilt. I'm not good at doing the 1/4" seam and paper piecing keeps everything accurate.
