I use paper piecing paper from JAF, if the pattern is small enough to fit. If it's bigger, I use muslin.

I also use plain old cheap printer paper. Shorten stitch length to about 16-18 stitches to inch and it tears away very easily.

I do this also but have other papers, some from MSQC. This way like Peckish is just so thrifty also.http://www.quiltnbee.biz/shop/Block-...5-x7562107.htm

I use the cheapest paper you can find in the office supply store. They use to give a rim of that paper with a minimum purchase.

I use freezer paper from the grocery store. Love it! Just use the iron to tick it to printer paper and print the template on it.

Newsprint. It tears away easily which helps in tight areas.

dickblick.com has reams of newsprint paper. 500 sheets per package. My printer has no problem feeding it through and its only in the neighbor hood of $3 something a ream

I, too, use copy paper, short stitch length. But, before I tear off papers, I fold it on the stitch line to "weaken" the paper. No problem removing it. Teeny bits left over? I use a tweezer to remove them.

I learned in a paper piecing class to run a tracing wheel next to the stitches, it perforates the paper for easy removal.

I found foundation paper on Amazon, 500 sheets for $15. Works great. Can use a smaller needle and no trouble tearing off the paper.
