My favorite is picking the fabrics and the least is putting borders on....maybe that is why I don't get many finished?

    Hmmmm

Well before the days of drastically fixed income I used to like picking out the fabric best. I can't afford to add to my stash, only buy for specific quilts (my stash is adequate, but I'm going to have to add some lights--oh boy trip to LQSs), so now I have to say that piecing is my favorite part.

I love to sew on the machine and I love to put puzzles together.

I enjoy the quilting because I have a longarm and love using it. I have worked out a plan with a good friend. She cuts and pieces for me and I quilt her quilts for her.

I like the planning, piecing, quilting and binding. Cutting and sandwiching, not so much. I love the end result, though, enough to make it through the parts I don't like!

I guess this is why I love quilting, it is so varied. Sometimes I even just like cutting the fabric, so when that is my mood I take stash and cut for an eventual crumb quilt.

Of course, buying the fabric is tops in my book. Then I enjoy making the top. It is down-hill all the way from there. My interest begins to flag. I have two quilt tops hanging on my design wall, two quilts waiting to be quilted and one quilt top still being sewn. That one has to be finished--it is for #3 daughters birthday.

I'm with you. It's the "process" that I enjoy. I have to admit that sometimes I go into a "gotta get it done" mode, but I usually make a mistake when I'm in that mode, and quickly revert to enjoying the "process". Right now I'm enjoying the process of FMQ. I'm finally getting a little bit better at it, so am enjoying that process a little more now than before.
