i remember my my mom telling me how they did laundry she was little she was born in 1924 , i thank GOD every day for my washer and dryer ,

and i just found that hand agitator in your photo in my dad's basement, from his mother's things from the farm. she had seven boys--five lived to marry and have families. and she "vashed" (swedish) da clothes by hand, ja, with it for many years before she got her old wringer washer.

i still have the old copper boiler she used on the woodstove for the whites, too. i hang mine outside, sometimes, just in honor of all they did in the past...

Yes, I used to wash with a wringer washer.
Diapers had to be the last load to do as you reused the wash water for all your loads.

Brings back memories of my mother who would have to "boil" my father's work clothes to get the printers ink out.
