I have an Elna Excellence 740 domestic sewing machine. I am new to FMQ. I have finished pieceing the top, pieceing the back and have sandwiched it and am now ready to quilt. I would like to quilt overlapping circles with brown thread all over the front of the quilt. The machine has a pin that I can put in place to use a decorative stitch and make a very handsome circle, but that would require turning the quilt 360 degrees for every circle. The finished size of the quilt is 80 x 96 inches. So I don't think that is feasible. Can you FMQ using the darning foot, feed dogs lowered, and using the pin to create the circle? Has anyone tried this? Any other suggestions? I will post a picture of the quilt before I added all of the borders.

I don't think the pin will work the same way FMQ as for regular sewing.
The pin works really well for smaller pieces, but I would be extremely careful using it with a bigger quilt. If you don't turn the quilt carefully and evenly, the circle may be off a bit where it joins  :D:D:D
