Pattern Advice

Jelly roll race quilt was what first popped into my head. Jenny at MSQC has a tutorial on it. Quick and easy. Or, as mentioned, a panel quilt would be fast and easy...plus you could pick out a cool panel to inspire hope, maybe. Sorry to hear of your family struggles. Be kind to yourself as you do for others in need.

Yes, to the jelly roll race idea for quick and easy. That can be dressed up a bit with shorter pieces and maybe a little square put between strips or cut the ends on the bias to give a bit of variety. But my original thought was to suggest simply using masculine colors or fabrics in a size that works for you and set those on point. There is something about that on point arrangement that changes the look of a quilt that it becomes very interesting and looks like you worked really hard on it. Shirting or plaids? Let your fabric do the work for you!

Very sad, these diagnoses. I'm so sorry. You said you were not as inspired to quilt for your uncle. Just want to encourage you that you never know how much comfort the gift of a quilt can bring. He will feel the love... let that be your inspiration. Maybe it will help him want to fight.

Here are the basic instructions. I let this one run diagonal because I didn't feel like cutting off the edges after setting it on point in order for the chevrons to run straight across the quilt - I needed it bed size for my husband's hospital bed. I also didn't have time to do setting triangles which I did for a grandchild's quilt. Very easy and quick pattern. http://thelittlefabricshop.blogspot....l.htmlandchild.
