What is your friend interested in? Maybe you could design an applique pattern around his/her interests?

Do you need a unique pattern----------or could you be happy with an unusual color arrangement in an old pattern?

I love to play with color and have no fears however I thought this time a unique pattern may be of interest.

Not sure why a pattern would need to be earth toned. You can use those fabrics on any pattern.
