pattern help
I saw a pattern called Takes the cake at Connecting Threads but I can't add attachments to show you. It looks like a granny square and they say it uses all 2" squares. I would like to make one for our bed but not cut all those squares. Can anyone see how to do with strips? Maybe someone knows of another site(I have looked at Pinterest and Quilter's Cache) Free would even be better! Thanks in advance for any help. Dee

Here is a link to the pattern

Here is a tute a member posted on making Granny Square quilts from 9P but she doesn't mention strip piecing. Her assembly method also seems to involve squares.
Easy, no waste Granny Square block tutorial
Given the scrappy nature of the pattern, it is not going to save you much time and effort strip piecing as none of the strip sets could be full WOF and I am not readily seeing duplicates of square placement for strip piecing. Really it isn't that much more effort to cut the squares and piece it. Maybe you can find a friend who has a accuquilt die cutter that can cut them for you.
