Pattern Ideas
I inherited a bag of fabric that was purchased for a baby quilt that was never made. The original pattern was a finicky old-fashioned basket applique pattern with tiny pieces that has long been lost...and I have never appliqued anything before.
I was thinking about trying some foundation paper piecing, but I am drawing a blank on any ideas. The original recipient is almost a tweenager now, so I am looking for something a bit more modern that will grow with her. The colors, at least, are still workable. I have yardage in solid pale pink, brown damask, and white on white, and quarter to half yard cuts in bright blues, greens, purples, pinks, and turquoise. There is easily enough there for me to make a twin sized quilt for her bed, I am just stumped on the pattern.
Any suggestions?

check out Free Paper Piecing Patterns to download and sew (swoodsonsays.com). I saw some cute patterns there that would work with the fabric you described. Good luck.
