pattern suggestions for 26x26 inch quilt
#1
My brother made me a beautiful picture frame for a quilt. He didn't measure the quilt well, probably assuming I would use a mat. Anyway, I hate the quilt that is in it now and it doesn't fit right so I am looking for a cool pattern to put in the frame. I will probably use whites, yellows and reds in the quilt. Any suggested patterns? It will hang in my kitchen (not that it matters much which room I stick it in). I think I will even ask a LAQ to quilt it. I am very excited about starting this project. Thanks!!

My avatar is called Center stage. It's about 24" square, so you could add a border to make it 26" and it uses three colors. It's put out by Pieced Tree Designs. http://www.piecedtreepatterns.com/tiny_ones/page/2/
Instead of making a 12 1/2" square for the center, I made some extra half square triangles and played with them until I got a design I liked.

If you like to paper piece you can take a very complicated 12 inch block and enlarge it, or any block for that matter. If math is not your thing , just take the 26 inches and divide by the orginal block size, that will tell you how big to enlarge the pattern. Example if the block is 8 inches and you want 26 , you would enlarge the pattern 3.25 time the orignal or 325 %.
I love paper peicing patterns for this reason, its so easy to adjust , just by reducing or englarging when copying/printing.
