Love this board, could spend all day on it. Am wanting to downsize my stash by selling fabric, patterns and books, wanted to accept cash, mo, cashiers check or personal check. Want to know if anyone on board has had trouble with personal checks. No name, either yours or person you sold to, just "Yes" or "NO". Thank you.

I've sent many personal checks to people, received some as well and have never had a problem.

I have been accepting checks for many years without a problem. My bank will cash USPS money orders & the post office will cash Canadian money orders. Checks from countries other than U.S. need to be written on a U.S Bank.

Thank you all for your information, I really did not think there would be any problems, everyone on here is so nice and helpful, but just wanted some input from others. Thank you.

You can call the bank on the check and ask if the check is good for deposit that day. Now money is taken the same day the check is deposited and recorded.

I have accepted quite a few checks and money orders from people on this board and had no problems with any of them. Another option is to accept paypal. It is faster, and the fee (paid by the seller) is small.
