    Hi
Are their any PC Quilter owners that live in New Jersey that would be willing to show me how this system works. I am toying with the idea of buying one, but not sure if I could operate it.
    Thanks
    NormaBeth

PC quilter is a carriage that you put on your frame, it attaches to a computer - you choose the design and the machine does the quilting for you - robotic quillting

I知 not in New Jersey, but I do have a PC Quilter.

Actually I recently retro fitted my PCQ to a MQR. Have you signed up for the yahoo group yet? You値l find many answers to your questions there. Are you buying a new or used machine? My only caution with a used machine is you値l have to purchase additional support. And you値l need it. The set up on your computer can be tricky. Once you have it set up you should be ok as long as you don稚 change computers. If you do that you値l probably need assistance again to change the files to configure to a new set up.

I loved my PC Quilter, still do. I changed computers and couldn稚 get the configuration right. I started looking for other options and came across the MRQ sight. I allowed me to upgrade my PCQ, removed the computer as an obstacle and gave me a better stitch out of my designs.

This is the link to the MQR
    www.quiltingrobotics.com.

And you'll find yahoo groups for both PCQ and MQR

Think of PC Quilter as a giant embroidery machine doing red work designs only. No fill. Your quilt frame is the machine bed, the frame itself is the hoop and instead of moving the hoop the carriage moves the sewing machine.

Your hoop size is limited by the size of your sewing machine. To get a larger hoop you値l need to have a larger bed on your sewing machine. I use a Brother PQ1500s with 9 inches from the back to the needle giving me a useable 5 to 7 inches of quilting space.

You use a computer (some robotic quilters have an on board set up) to pick your design to use, just like embroidery, program it in and press the go button.
