On the fabric?
Most applique starts with an outline to show you where to place the fabric. Then it stitches it down before cutting. You just follow the progression in the applique. All of it should show up in a printout of the design. It's digitized that way.
If you want to print every step - you could use the sew preview for each color and do a print screen if the software doesn't color sort.
If you want a template - just print the file out. Use a tracing wheel and chalk.
If you want to digitize - I think you need the full version of PE Design.
