I have to add another one here... It is said that only God is perfect! this means you have to have mistakes, and I alway do.

My mom always said, "If it's handmade it won't be perfect", so that's my motto. I am NOT a perfectionist in any sense of the word, and people still like my quilts.

I think things are perfect if they're hand made! (sewn, drawn/painted, baked, cooked from scratch) lol sharet

I totally agree with this statement. There may be someone that can and does make a perfect quilt but, I think feffertrimm is right in saying a lot of us are too hard on oursefves. My quilts will never look like some of yours even though I have done it longer than you but, I am happy if it turns out useable.
Quilting is like playing the piano, I know the basics of both and can get by nicely with what I do, however there are master pianist and there are master quilters. Whichever one you are just enjoy what you are doing and do not compete with others.

I have never seen a quilt that wasn't beautiful. I guess I like them all because I know how much time and creativity go into each quilt. You are absolutely right that we are too hard on ourselves. With every quilt you learn more, so I look at every mismatched point, every ripped out seam as a learning experience not as a mistake.

When I see or hear a quilter say that "It's not perfect," I've always kind of read into it that they are expressing some humbleness. I always hesitate before I post a piece, because I don't want to be percieved as "showing off" or bragging about my work. I just want people to know that *I know* it's not perfect :) Even if my daddy says it is !! :D
