I make charity quilts at our local hospital. We are looking for a way to make our own labels using a rubber stamp and a permanent ink pad. However, I've searched everywhere online and in local stores and I'm having trouble finding what I need. Office supply stores don't carry them and our local art supply store has gone out of business. The ones I have found want a ridiculous amount for shipping a small ink pad. Does anyone have a good source?

Could you buy india ink and re-ink a dried out ink pad?

I don't do stamping - so I have no idea if that would work.

you need the Tsukineko ink. They make a permanent ink and you can buy an uninked pad. As for the stamp...good luck..it is really hard to find anyone that makes the rubber stamps any more..I remember learning how when I worked at "things remembered" in the mall back in say...78!!

here is the best site I found...free shipping with only a $20 order! I would go with the 2" x 4" wooden stamp...

Do you have any friends that do rubber stamping? I don't know about the permanent ink but I work at a copy shop and I have ordered stamps for an artist. It was only the rubber part. You could mount onto a flat piece of wood. There has to be some kind of paint/ink. I have seen on one of the art programs where they stamped fabric.

My daughter was a Stampin Up demonstrator. I could ask her.

I don't know for sure what site was previously cited, but this one makes custom stamps and has free shipping over $20. Staples also makes custom stamps.

The OP was just looking for a recommendation for permanent ink and Tsukineko would be right for that, as mentioned.
