    I counted some of mine I have in a basket. I stopped at 24. I found the retractable one I thought I lost. LOL

    I don't think you are pessimistic at all. You just have a seam ripper for every area that you sew in.

    I have three but my "go too" if allot of ripper is my battery operated one...zip zip zip right thru in seconds...

    When I'm sewing I lose items, sometimes it seems I lose them by holding them. I don't waste time to search for small tools. I go to my baskets of rippers, cutters, scissors, and small rulers, and keep on sewing. The items will eventually show up and go into the baskets.
