My solution is to have a dog that does not shed!

Yes! My kitty's hair is quite long and it works great on her. :)

I first use a rubber glove that you use for washing dishes etc. to scrape off the fur of my cat. Then I use a lint roller. Between the two almost all of the hair comes off.

I found a pet sponge at Ace Hardware that works fantastic. have since found that Mr. Clean sponges also work good ( dry) Hope this helps. I have 2 long hair and one short hair.

I have used pretty much all of the above, except the contact paper. Never thought of that.

What I use the most is a fabric lint brush I bought from our local CVS Pharmacy. It was about $6.00. It is 2 sided and you brush one way and it picks up the hair, then brush the opposite to remove it. The one I bought has 2 sides which do the same thing. It is kind of like a red velvet (knappy material).

I found a link that is similar to the one I bought. I actually had one like this but lost it. I like my new one better. I have a grey cat that has long hair and it seems he sheds everywhere, plus my daughter comes over with her Siberian Husky which sheds in clumps. The lint brush works so good, I think it is even better than the upolstery attachment on my vacuum.

You can use static guard, but I hate the chemicals. I have trouble breathing around that stuff, plus I would be afraid of stains or whatever else it could do to your quilt.

No cat here and our shih-tsu doesn't shed so I don't have that problem.

This is obviously a subject near and dear to many hearts! Thank you everyone, I am going to try the fabric roller and the rubber gloves, might as well use the tape for good measure too!

I never heard of the Furminator, will look at the video. How is it different from a regular brush? Luckily my kitty loves to be brushed and so does my cocker spaniel but the cavalier hides when he sees the brush come out.

I put my quilts through the fluff cycle and it takes away most of the hair but the big thing I do is give the quilts to people with animals then they don't know if it is mine or theirs.

I have a little hand held Dirt Devil with the rotating brushes that I love. I have two kitties that sleep with me and have to vacuum the cat hair and kitty litter every morning. In addition to the hair on the chairs and couch. It gets everything, that I can see. I use it with a light touch so it doesn't harm the fabrics.
