Well, it sounds like although I did good buying the machine, it very well may be a parts only one:< I e-mailed brubakers and there are no foot controls on the market new that will work with my original circuit board. And it could be several things that are making it go sloooooow. Any of which could mean big bucks to fix...

I have found someone who specializes in fixing these machines and I'm planning on trying to save it. Looks like it will be shipped out this Pfaff magician on Mon. Wish me luck!

Pardon me for asking as this is kind of an old thread now, but did your Pfaff1222 come back in sewing shape? I have a Pfaff1222E and it has always sewn slowly as compared to a New Home or today's Janomes or any other machine, including my old 1971 Kenmore - it sews at a reasonable speed, but I would say that to me it has always seemed slow. I think it may be the nature of this machine. I do love it, and have had it now for 35 years. I have heard that if the connections on the foot pedal were cleaned it MIGHT help the speed, but I do not want to fiddle with it because everything works! I hope that your machine has come home and is sewing for you.
