Default Pfaff 2140 free motion quilting

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, so first nice to meet you all. Second I am totally frustrated trying for the first time to free motion on my pfaff 2140. I followed the instructions in the manual but the option "Embroidery/Darning/Quilting window doesn't come up. What am I doing wrong or not doing.....so frustrated!! In a word....Help

Welcome to the board. I wish I could help with your question, but I'm not familiar with that machine. Our Pfaffs have a switch inside the bobbin cover to lower the feed dogs.

Hi, I just want to welcome you to the board. I don't have that machine.

What does show up in the window?

There should be 3 choices on the BOTTOM of the main screen. There is a built-in help on the machine which is one choice. I think info is the middle button on the BOTTOM. You won't hurt anything by playing with the info on the screen.

    Which manual are you using?

Hi Weezy, I must not be using the right manual, I downloaded it form the internet or rather Bill did. I called the store to walk me through the steps, my gosh it was so simple!! So now I am a happy camper & able to Finnish my place mats. I will post an intro soon. Thank you for your response

The manual for the 2140 was written in German originally and not very well translated making it just a bit weird to try and figure out. Its not very straight forward but glad to hear you got it figured out. I have not done it on mine since I got my Babylock Jane.

Glad you got it. Here's another PDF manual. It says for a 2170 but the 2140, 44, and 70 pretty much run the same.
Our Pfaff dealer used to carry these,
