If you havent bought a new bulb yet go to your local auto parts or hardware , its a small fraction of a pfaff bulb I took as much machine apart as I could, to get to mine. then bought a piece of flexible tubing that will grab the bulb and twist it out for the next time

I realize this is an old thread, but since I found it I thought others might wander here later as well. I could not get a phillips screwdriver to work to remove the side panel. I did some more googling, and found that the screw needs a #25 torx tool (that's a star shaped head vs phillips or flat head). I didn't have one of those handy either, but we do have a set of hex keys. I found one that fit, and had to use a pair of pliers (gently, but it gave me more torque) to get the screw loose - it was locked in pretty tight. Then voila, the panel comes off and the bulb is very easy to put in with your hands (no special bulb tool needed if you get the side panel off). The little screw doesn't come out completely, it just needs to be loosened to get the panel off. Hope this helps if someone else lands here. I love my Pfaff 7570 and need to keep it running :-)

Thanks for all of the information. Have not had to replace my bulb yet.... Would not ever attempt it without this information. Sounds doable.!!!

I have a Pfaff 7550, the light bulb has to be pushed up and turned at the same time. I did not use a tool.

Any reputable service tech can replace a bulb and service your machine. It doesn't have to be a Pfaff dealer. If the bulb has died, you most likely need the machine to be serviced anyway. If you love and use your machine, and want to keep it running well, have it serviced regularly. My Pfaff dealer is 200 miles away also. I call ahead and make arrangements to have it serviced while I shop locally, and pick it up at the end of the shops works day. Well worth it to keep my 7570 purring!

I have a 7550. I think you push the bulb up and twist at the same time. The new one inserts the same way.
