There was a recent discussion here about opening up the sewing machine cabinet to vacuum out all the lint. Does anyone know how to open the Pfaff Performance 2056? Is there some kind of maintenance manual available somewhere? Thanks for any information you have!

You can probably Google for a manual for that model (on-line you can get printable manuals for almost anything!) or contact Pfaff by e-mail (They are very friendly) and ask if they have a manual.

Is this an older model or a newer one? On most machines, all you need to vacuum out is the bobbin area.

As far as I know you only need to remove the cover plate and you should be able to get all the lint and fuzz out of the bobbin/feed dog area. It is oiled on the bobbin carriage. Maintenance is fairly simple, or did you have something else in mind?

I have a Pfaff 2025. I use a star screwdriver. The two screws are located on top, recessed. After removing them, the top lifts. I don't know if yours is anything like this. I'll try to attach a picture.

Newby0709 ~ Yes that's the information I was looking for. Thank you very much. And thank you to others who responded. I clean out the bobbin area regularly. Can't find the manual online but haven't tried to email the manufacturer.

That information was not in my manual. I learned by watching the repairman opening my machine while it was under warranty.

This info helped me remove the top of my machine to remove a thread that became caught in the threading slots. I purchased my Pfaff 2056 in January 2006, and this is the first time I've had to do something other than clean the bobbin/feed dog area. Have Taken in for a cleaning twice, but that is all. Love my Pfaff.
