I did not use paper piecing or any special ruler for my pineapple quilt. I enjoyed doing it and was pleased with the result.

Scroll down to the third quilt. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...e-t204147.html

I liked Pineapple quilts until I saw this one that raised the bar really high for me:

I'm trying to find a pattern. She made her own. One of these days.....

I really loved using the Creative Grids pineapple tool. Made it really easy too- square up block after each round.

Really nice looking quilt. I have the Creative Grids pineapple tool, just haven't gotten around to using it yet.

Oh my...you've all made beautiful quilts! I love this pattern. I especially like that one mentioned on the Log Cabin Quilter site: http://karen-logcabinquilter.blogspo...ple-quilt.html The curved "vines" give it an old fashioned, distinctive look. I keep looking at it trying to figure out how she did that. It looks like there's some oddly shaped triangles in there.

We haven't actually made the quilt yet, just a test block, but we have the Gyleen Fitzgerald ruler. You square up after each round, so the block comes out nice and square. Here is a link to her tool:

I made my pineapple quilt without paper piecing I didn't think it was difficult to do at all. I was watching Eleanor Burns as she made it and just followed along, I did post a picture of the beginning of it but not the finished quilt. I have started another in the same rainbow colors so will post when done. BTW mine was done with black as the background really made my colors pop.

I'm in the processes of making a scrappy one using the ruler and book from Gyleen Fitzgerald. You can get her ruler and book from her website http://www.colourfulstitches.com/index.html She was an engineer for the government and designed this ruler, then wrote the book and gives classes. The ruler is very easy to use. Took a class from her a couple years ago. I just don't work on the blocks very often.
