Very nice quilt! I don't think it is too pink at all. Doesn't look like it on my monitor anyways. I think he will love it. Great job!

I think in the picture it looks fine - not too pinky at all. You did a great job and I'm sure your grandson will love it.

Thanks so much everyone! This is probably why I'm so unproductive....tend to second guess and ponder things like this to death! Today's the big day, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! He is a very nice young man and I'm sure even if he saw the hint of pink he wouldn't say it. I will impress onto he and his mom that all cleaning is mine to do...no matter how bad! Xoxo

How nice! Our dgs is the third generation to attend that great school! It's changed so much since my dh and I went! I love Quilting Connections too, but being 90 miles away, don't get there as often as I'd like!

Years ago I purchased a Christmas quilt from Goodwill. It needed a binding but the white was pink due to the backing running. I thought it very nice and didn't mind the pink (white) it was beautifully quilted and I finished it off. Well time has passed and many washing's later the white is now white! All on it's very own! Who knows yours may do the same, mean while I think yours is a lovely quilt and he will enjoy it for many years to come.

I actually like it better without the stark white. Beautiful work.

Nice quilt! My son (he graduated in 2008) would like it too!!! I had a red work quilt turn pink and I came upon directions to fill a bathtub with hot water and mix several drops of plain Dawn dish soap and completely immerse your quilt in it, even weighting it down with plastic lids if needed and wait for 12 hours. Repeat if it doesn't take it out the first time. I was amazed my pink came out white after about 18 hours of soaking.

Thanks all for your kind comments! I am glad to know that someday the white will probably return! It was delivered yesterday and he was thrilled...the word "pink" was never mentioned! Whew!

Recycler: So glad he loved the quilt! All I could think when reading your original post and then the others was this:

College aged boy? White on a quilt? For how long? LOL Just remember he and his friends will be lounging, eating, horsing around, etc. on the quilt (unless he is planning on hanging it on a wall). Make sure you give him laundering instructions - basically not to launder, but bring it home to you for cleaning!

Wonderful quilt! Even with a DD in college, I've never really thought about making a "college" themed quilt. I wonder if St. Anselm College even has an official fabric.

    Thanks for posting!
