I was told the blue flower headed pins were the sharpest and thinnest. I did find they didn't last as long as I expected as they bent very easily.
i have given up on pins for binding and seams I use the small red pinch clips, they hold the fabric just as will with no pricks.

As I am old enough to have diapered my son in cloth diapers with diaper pins that didn't always glide smoothly into the diaper, I still use this trick with my sewing/quilting pins -- run the pin through your hair and it will pick up just enough oil to glide smoothly. Worth a try.
Yep! I can also testify to that!

I know we all don't have room, but I have most kinds on separate magnets. Silk glass heads, flower heads, tiny applique, fat heavy with big balls on top, etc. Each has its own application, I toss one if it bends or picks, and replace them as the stack gets smaller. But I am a dressmaker as well as a quilter.
