    I press them as flat as possible, then dab with a paintbrush dipped in starch, then press again. This gets them pretty flat.

    I've done that, but if you get too carried away with it, you can pound a hole in the fabric...ask me how I know!!!

    On 8 pointed star blocks, I do spin them, and then use a board and hammer.
