I dont live in a McMansion so the only places large enough to spray baste a quilt are: my garage floor---fine in the summer but muddy and 21 degrees right now, my foyer which is ceramic tile, my kitchen--ditto, and my hubby's pool table---Im scared to death of ruining the felt. I seem to get the spray all over even when I lay down plastic. Crawling around on the tile is not my idea of a fun time either.

Has anybody just bought and set up an old ping pong table for basting??? Or do you have any other ways to do it? 4 by 8 panels of something from the hardware store?

    Any suggestions are welcome

I use the wall method or my bed as I can't get on the floor due to an a shattered kneecap a few years ago.

my husband made me a table - he bought 2 cheap indoor doors and put them onto a frame he made out of steel shelving framework.
I have it in my basement and use it for layering my quilts for quilting. It is the right heighth so it doesn't hurt my back.
I used to crawl around on the living room floor but complained too much about the discomfort, so I was thrilled when he came up with this idea.

edited to say - he painted the doors with a shelac to make them smooth

I just had hip replacement surgery at Christmas which is why I REALLY REALLY dont want to crawl on the floor. I cant imagine spraying my walls with basting spray...maybe you tape it and pin it?

That just gave me an idea...I use a nice looking curtain rod on my wall to display a quilt. I could also use it for basting...

What about a piece of plywood over the pool table? No damage to the table, no getting on the floor. You could paint it so it wouldn't catch the fabric on the wood splinters.
