    Default Plastic Extenders For Machines

I was watching a video about free motion quilting and the young woman, I think her name is Leah, had this on her machine. What is the name of that and where are they sold?

This is the one I have: http://www.sewsteady.com/
They make them for many machines. All Brands carries them, also you can check with your dealer, as your sewing machine company may also make them. If you know someone handy, they can also make one out of MDF, but I REALLY like the clear acrylic to store notions and find them!

Well worth getting one to custom fit your machine. They can also double as a light box by putting a lit bulb under the acrylic and tracing on top of it.

My Bernina came with a small extension table. However, if you are looking for a better surface for FMQ, especially for larger quilts, you might want to think about making this kind of extension surface for your machine (parts 1 & 2):

Dh built mine for me (it was a little more complicated because of height and shape of my sewing machine), and I really like it for machine quilting. For piecing, though, the extension table that came with my machine works better.

If it's Leah Day's site that you saw, she uses a Janome Horizon and it comes with the acrylic table. My older Janome 6260 came with one too.
Check out the sites others have given for Allbrands. They can send you one customized for your machine
I love mine and seldom sew without it. I even take it with me to classes.
