I am trying out different block patterns using my scraps. I have made a bunch of pinwheels from my triangles....how on earth do you get the seams to line up....In fact if people have hints how to line up seams I would love tho hear them. I made a quilt today. Love it, but it would have been nicer if I could get all the seams to line up perfectly...

when i make pinwheels, i will kind of 'slide" the two pieces together so that they 'catch' each other - my points aren't always perfect - but they look good to me!

If you have your back seams going in opposite directions and lock them together when you sew, your points should line up correctly. Have fun!

Lots of people can do it without pinning but it works better for me if I use a pin or two. Put the point of the pin through right at the spot where they need to match - kind of an X marks the spot kind of thing. Then pin to hold in place while you sew. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say. :D

Stick a straight pin STRAIGHT thru the top seam and straight into the back seam at each junction. Tug on each block if you need to until the pieces match. (says she who seldom hits straight on!)

I will glue bast them, I don't like how pins bubble up the fabric.
