Please help me decide!!! Janome or pfaff
#51
I would strongly suggest calling all the Janome dealers in town and try to get a NEW machine for $1100. They have really reduced the price since the Horizon's debut. Do you think you'll actually use the extra feet? I know I don't use much more than the 1/4" foot and the walking foot. Have you checked for a used Bernina? I used to own the Janome 6600, and sold it after trying the Bernina. I bought my Bernina used, and have had no problems with it. Good luck, whatever choice you make.

Janome or Pfaff
The 6600 is a wonderful machine and does so much. I am not familiar with the Pfaff. I would recommend that you try a pfaff before buying. I can vouch for the janome being easy to use and very reliable. I have had janome's for the last 25 years. good luck!

I think the Janome is way overpriced. I bought mine used (barely) for $800.00. I know I got a bargain, but I love the machine and would recommend it. I don't know much about the Pfaff. I would keep looking, sometimes the dealers have trade in they sell for a good price, also check EBay. You can definitely get a better price.

The one yr. old Pfaff would be the better deal. The Janome seems overpriced for 5 yrs. old.
Check prices at local dealers for used machines and/or new. You can also check "completed sales" on eBay for what these may be selling for. Also check eBay for "for sale" prices. Don't be in a hurry to part with hard earned money.
