    I would make the handles so they go down to the bottom of bag and around to the other side and use some velcro small trips about 1 1/2 to 2 inches on both sides just place the velcro between the sides and the handles. I hope this helps.

    Cute bag, I love the flora print. Handles are not spaced correctly (too close on one end and too far on the other), also I think you should have used stiffer batting (not rock hard, but more to hold the shape). An EASY fix, is when you move your handles open up the seam between the lining and shell on one side and place a hair thing-e then close it and just one button on the outside of the other side of your bag. You did a nice job.
