I made one using this method with African prints (my blocks sizes and setting were my own but same principle) and they turn out just great. The black will really set it off. I love your collection and the one she designed.

My daughter just returned from Ghana, she & her DH had served there in the Peace Corp. They have been back a couple of times, this time they took my grandson with them. She has brought me fabric before, she bought much more for both of us this trip. I found a website www.culturedexpressions.com. It is very African, has patterns, culture info, and is beautifully illustrated. I sent for 2 books, one by mail, one digital. The paper magazine contained 3 beautiful batik charms. It's well worth looking at. It is also called Cultured Expressions, Inc.

How about the wonderful Just Can't Cut It. It uses large blocks of color. By adding say black you are able to make it any size. Have done several with my collection of All African fabrics, No matter the color, country, or tribe, they all worked. My recipients have all loved them
Good luck with such a great array, especially the one she designed. Maybe she has a future in material

I think a shadow quilt would show off the fabrics nicely. You'd have to get a background solid and probably a gray solid for the shadow. Here's a thread discussing how to do them. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...w-t116628.html You could do squares or rectangles or combinations of different sizes.

Try a log cabin pattern with hers in the center and maybe one strip. Use all her fabrics with solids from one to border then bind. Hope you let us know what your end product looks like
