Be sure and clean the bobbin area really well and check the bobbin case itsself, lint can get under the little clips or springs and really mess things up!!!!

    Thanks for the website

Also, when I am FMQ, I set the stitch length to 0, because that's what the directions told me and I have not had any problems.
I agree with this and on the yahoo Juki group it was mentioned that the bobbin could be spinning when doing curves which causes the loops? When you think of how fast this machine goes it makes sense.

Not at all an expert on this subject but....advice I read says 1. Change to new sharp needle
    2. Clean for lint or threads EVERYWHERE
    3. Use the same thread type, weight in top and bobbin
    4. Some machines prefer cotton thread
    5. Rethread machine maybe you missed one spot..

    6. Try changing to a new bobbin...maybe it wasn't wound smoothly Don't give up, you'll find the problem!!
My machine doesn't do a great loop or curve for me but it is better with cotton thread...You'd know I bought a bunch of polyester thread...LOL

I was wanting to topstitch on my son's plaid flannel quilt but the thread that I wanted to use....a brown....was a poly blend. My machine loves cotton thread...the stitches are much nicer looking. The poly thread...the brown color...just sat on top of the fabric and didn't make a pretty stitch at all. Since I didn't have an all cotton brown thread, I am hand stitching with it instead...no stores selling cotton thread in my small town....go figure. This is something that I am wanting to finish now because it has been a UFO for a while. Ready to move on to something else so I am using what I have....

I have the same threading on the Brother 1500, identical machine to the Juki in threading. I noticed you threaded through two holes at the first thread guide. Try just threading through the last hole (from your right). That first thread guide is designed so each hole adds more thread tension. No where in the manual does it explain that at all and very few dealers know it. Also if you are using a thread stand have the pull out thread guide right over the thread cone, so the thread is coming straight off the cone not sideways.
