Please share how you got into LAQ

I like to have control over my work and, to put it mildly, my budget doesn't include the fees many LA's charge.
I got my HQ second hand and love it. No, it isn't a LA but it does the job for me.
If I had the space and $$$ I'd probably go with a Statler Stitcher. Since that isn't an option ... I love my HQ.
