I will piece one while the one that I am quilting is still in the frames, but will not begin another one until the one in the frames is finished. It takes me too long to complete a quilt since I hand quilt, so I think I would just put stress on my self if I did.

There is no right or wrong way; do what brings you the most joy.
I usually have a lot of projects going on at any one time. Sometimes I do one project all the way, just to change things up. My current goals are to use up all my pretty fabric before I die, so by my count, I'll live to about 140.

The way I make quilts, I don't end up with orphan blocks or quilt tops waiting....

I always have a certain quilt all planned out for a certain person. My husband does all the math for me, and we always end up with the amount needed.

I'd like to make quilts just to make them, but with a 3 1/2 yr old, 2 1/2 yr old, & 4-month old, I don't have time for anything not already assigned.

I have about 30 tops and blocks sets for tops just waiting for me to finish and I rarely finish one. It is nuts. But I don't have a long arm machine and I have fibromyalgia so I can't do them by hand anymore. Someday I will get them done. LOL

I only have one unfinished thing so far but I am new to quilting. It's unfinished because I don't know what to do with it. It is a giant dresden plate that measures at least 6 feet across. It is just one plate that big. Any suggestions. First I don't know how to make the circle that goes in the middle, just because of it's size and then what?

Well, I'm much worse. My quilting seems to be hit & miss. I thought I would have a quilt done LAST Christmas for DH but all I could wrap up was one 12" block. Guess this year he might get the second block
