Even if you don't use Firefox for anything except this quilting forum, I recommend installing and using it. It is free, fast, and clean. I never see ads here.

I use Firefox almost all the time (can't really explain why Internet Explorer is still installed). I have really noticed the difference on Facebook. I play Lexulous and had logged in with IE one day and wondered why there were suddenly all these ads around my game. Firefox blocks them all.

I use Firefox and I just started getting the ads, that's why I asked about them, I hadn't been getting anything like that until the day I posted the question. They seem to be gone now.

So two people could be looking at the same page and see different ads.

In any case, I blocked that particular domain so we shouldn't have any ads from them any more.
WHOA! The book 1984 might have been a bit off in the year - but not in the idea that someone somewhere can access almost anything and everything about a person.

I appreciate your mentioning how much info can be gathered from little bits posted here and there.
Really kind of scary, creepy, isn't it???

Is Firefox compatible with Macs? We have Safari, but some sites don't work well with it. And I definitely wouldn't mind getting rid of the ads.

I agree it is extremely scary and creepy how much info they gather.
