DEPENDS, some quilts are a snap (cutting & piecing) other have a zillion pieces to cut, which means zillions to piece.
Sometimes I am in the mood to do hand work, or maybe let it go for months.

Quilting is a hobby, I work on it at my pace, mood and desire. It is not a race (except when we realize we need to finish asap for that special occasions). Some quilts inspire me to finish because it is beautiful and I am enjoying the process others (unfortunately) might become a UFO.

So it is hard to put a percentage up.... but I can say I'm ALWAYS drooling!

I AGREE !!! Ditto, Ditto, Ditto !!! dunster got it right again

Most of my time is spent picking fabrics and making mock up blocks to see if I like where a pattern is taking me.

Once I decide, Cutting and piecing is a smaller amount of time. Cutting a whole quilt is impossible for me. I cut as I go in case I mis cut something. I would hate to ruin a whole quilt worth of material

I have more quilt tops than finished ones. I find I am a piecer more than a quilter. Wish I could find some one to do the quilting for me I could keep someone busy for a long time quilting my flimsies!

Another procrastinator here, which usually kicks in at the "how am I going to quilt this?" stage!
