The old double knit fabric makes wonderful old drag around quilts that are almost impossible to wear out. This is the quilt to use to throw on the ground when your husband is working on the combine out in the field, in the pump house so the water won't freeze and for the sick dog. It washes up and looks the same over and over. Keep the pattern simple(large squares work well) machine quilt it simply and use it!
